Summary: 99 Antennas is seeking 2-3 interns to support its work developing media projects, including helping cover the presidential elections for client Fusion.net.
Commitment: min. 20hrs/ duration 3-6 months

Description: Have an idea for a story? In this role you’ll support a small data team in developing timely stories and interactive projects. Projects include coverage of national issues and presidential elections. You'll be working with data scraped from social media, public data sources and data shared by partners. Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks from helping to identify data sources, cleaning data, to more complex assignments involving data visualization, natural language processing and data analytics.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to get hands on experience developing media projects with real data and real deadlines. You’ll be working with a small team of professionals based remotely. Hours are flexible. Two scheduled weekly check-ins are required.
Interns must be able to work work remotely, follow-through on tasks, and have strong communication skills. Responsibilities to vary based on skills and interest.
This is an unpaid internship, but typically a great experience.
Requirements: Familiarity with some or all of the following data visualization tools:
Python/R
Git/Github
Third-party packages/libraries (D3.js, ggplot, jQuery, etc.)
Geospatial mapping/shape files
Design tools: HTML, CSS, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, etc.
U.S. citizens only please due to the nature of the projects.
